Today, 28th June 2024, the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria (JNTSCN), Delta State Chapter, led by the Delta State Chairman, Chief Comrade, Okosior Armstrong Ikemefuna, alongside the National Executive Chairman, Amb. Mogbojiri Taiwo Damilare, and members of the Delta State Executive Council, paid a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Agboola Jimoh, at the Delta State Command Headquarters in Asaba.
The visit was part of JNTSCN's ongoing commitment to building strong partnerships with security agencies and key stakeholders in advancing transport safety, public security, and national development.
During the meeting, the leadership of JNTSCN outlined the committee's mission to promote road safety awareness, enforce transport compliance, strengthen safety education, and foster collaboration among government institutions, transport operators, and security agencies. Discussions also focused on developing joint initiatives aimed at reducing road accidents, protecting critical transport infrastructure, and improving the safety and security of commuters across Delta State.
The National Executive Chairman, Amb. Mogbojiri Taiwo Damilare, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in creating a safer transportation environment and reaffirmed JNTSCN's readiness to partner with the NSCDC in implementing safety campaigns, community outreach programs, and capacity-building initiatives.
The Delta State Chairman, Chief Comrade Okosior Ikemefuna Armstrong, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the committee's dedication to supporting the Federal Government's vision of a secure, efficient, and well-regulated transport sector.
In his response, Commandant Agboola Jimoh welcomed the JNTSCN delegation and commended the committee for its proactive efforts in promoting transport safety and public awareness. He assured the leadership of the NSCDC's willingness to collaborate on initiatives that enhance road safety, security, and the protection of lives and property.
The courtesy visit concluded with the exchange of goodwill messages and a shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between JNTSCN and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the collective pursuit of safer roads, stronger institutions, and sustainable national development.

On 3rd July 2024, the leadership of the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria (JNTSCN) paid a strategic visit to the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) Secretariat in Lagos for a high-level interface meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing safety standards within Nigeria's transport sector.
The JNTSCN delegation engaged with the leadership of ISPON in constructive discussions focused on promoting professional safety practices, enhancing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards, and fostering strategic partnerships that will contribute to safer roads and more efficient transport operations across the country.
During the meeting, both organizations emphasized the importance of continuous safety education, professional certification, capacity building, and the implementation of best practices in transport safety management.
They also explored opportunities for joint training programs, public awareness campaigns, and policy initiatives designed to reduce road accidents and improve compliance with national safety regulations.
The JNTSCN leadership reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with professional bodies such as ISPON to develop a culture of safety, responsibility, and excellence within Nigeria's transport industry. In return, the ISPON Secretariat expressed its readiness to collaborate with JNTSCN in delivering impactful safety programs and supporting initiatives that protect lives, property, and critical transport infrastructure.
The strategic interface meeting concluded with a shared vision of building a stronger partnership that will drive innovation, professional development, and sustainable transport safety solutions for the benefit of all Nigerians.

As part of the strategic interface meeting held at the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) Secretariat, Lagos, members of the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria (JNTSCN) participated in an insightful leadership and capacity-building lecture delivered by the National Executive Chairman, Amb. Mogbojiri Taiwo Damilare.
During the session, Amb. Mogbojiri emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, integrity, and teamwork in achieving the committee's vision of creating a safer and more efficient transport system across Nigeria. He encouraged members to uphold the core values of JNTSCN by promoting road safety awareness, enforcing compliance with transport regulations, and serving as ambassadors of positive change within their respective states and communities.
